It's half term and I'm bored

I've watched too much tv.
AIBU to think that a young Peter Ustinov is a dead ringer for Tom Hardy?
And AIBVVU for fancying the aforementioned Mr Ustinov?

He was quite dashing in The Goose Steps Out

I've just watched We're No Angels. Can't say that the convict outfit is particularly dashing but there's something rather fetching about him.

Do you have children or are you a teacher?

vastknapsack · 16/02/2018 20:37

I have children.

God I would love to be bored during half term. I often find myself saying just that, wistfully, to my kids when they moan about being given bored during half term!!

vastknapsack · 16/02/2018 20:43

Perhaps my thread title is misleading. I'm currently bored as child is otherwise occupied which has led to me musing about Tom/Peter similarity. I think it's something about the mouth/lips?

I never fancied Peter Ustinov, whereas Tom........................

Perhaps I need to go to Specsavers (or rather DH does as it was he who drew my attention to the likeness) Grin

My DDs newish Nicole Fahri designer frames came apart as I watched her cleaning them. The staff member at Specsavers didn't believe me about how they broke. I found his attitude upsetting. Eventually the manager replaced the frames as a good will gesture as she's been with Specsavers for 10 years. That was less than four months ago. Yesterday exactly the same thing happened again. The glasses broke in half as she held them. My DH went straight to Specsavers was immediately told by a staff member that this has never happened before(how can he know this without checking) and that they wouldn't be replacing them and he'd have to pay.
It's obvious there must be a fault with these glasses as they're clearly not fit for the job. We've made an appointment to see the manager tomorrow. I'm very unhappy about it as it's our daughters only pair of glasses and she's very long sighted. She's having to wear her contact lenses (vision is less clear in them). Has anyone else had a similar bad experience with specsavers glasses?

Erm nice2chat I think your barking up the wrong tree.

Not sure what your post has to do with a 6 month old thread.

Mulberry72 · 09/09/2018 09:44

Perhaps start a new thread nice2chat?

You may get better responses Smile

AmazinglyGraceful · 09/09/2018 11:15

No, no issues with Specsavers here but I do have issues with people hijacking really old threads with what should be their own new thread.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 09/09/2018 11:17

They obviously googled specssavers...
