Sanitary Towel Shape

Although I should be at the end phase of periods at 55, I'm still getting them although thankfully alternate months seems to be the pattern..
Nevertheless the trend for pads to be thinned in the very place they need to be widened makes no sense to me. "Wings" don't work for me at least, as they were intended to.

I use pads back to front, seems to fit much better.

52FestiveRoad · 14/02/2018 21:26

I remember years ago when Bodyform were shaped with a fatter bit in the middle, rather than being flat like they are today. It was much more comfy, I don't know why they changed it!

OutyMcOutface · 14/02/2018 21:28

The old fashioned libra pads from Australia are the bomb-but I've never found one in Britain that I get on with. Too thin-and what is with the weird meshy gauze they put on as a top layer Envy

mumpoints · 14/02/2018 21:30

Don't talk to me about wings. I DESPISE wings.

BertieBotts · 14/02/2018 21:35

It's supposed to be to fit in your gusset. If they were any wider in the middle for me, the edges would stick to my pubic hair.

BertieBotts · 14/02/2018 21:35

But I like wings Blush

Washable ones tend to be wider in the middle, if any use to you.

Thesecondtoast · 14/02/2018 21:37

I have ended up basically waxing myself whilst walking (In public) with wings. I hate the bloody things. Shock

Tangfastics · 14/02/2018 21:41

Kotex fitness.

And they also unfragranced.

You’re welcome!

Boswellox · 15/02/2018 11:20

Thanks for replies, will look up the suggestions. Lol at the pube waxing effect of wings.

OP posts:
Jappydooda · 15/02/2018 11:24

Try Always - they have non-winged ones.

Hairgician · 15/02/2018 11:26

Oh god what is it with the horrid fragranced ones?? They smell horrible and make your flaps itch. I purposely look for unfragranced which are getting harder to find.

Kpo58 · 15/02/2018 11:27

If I don't have wings, I find sanitary towels just bunch up in the middle which then soaks my underwear.

Jolonglegs · 15/02/2018 11:42

Having tried many types I've now settled on Always Infinity Long with wings. Comfy and very absorbant, and yes I do like the wings.

LipANik · 15/02/2018 11:53

I always put them front to back, work much better that way.

arousingcheer · 15/02/2018 11:55

I thought I was the only one who turned them back to front. Grin
I love washable cotton pads - no more rashes or inadvertent waxing! - but because the wings are also made of cotton they simply wick the blood around the sides of your pants to imprint two bloody lines on the inner thigh of your trousers.

LipANik · 15/02/2018 12:00

They don't leak that way.

I also have dedicated black cotton period pants, the wings just touch/cross under the gusset so they stick to each other.
No shifting.

LipANik · 15/02/2018 12:02

and heavy days always use the night pads. All day.
