To think I have to do something about work colleague

He's fine professionally, but he's moved next to me. This week I've been really struggling to work as he's so loud. He chews gum loudly alot with his mouth open, I know it's an issue I have with not liking the sound of other people. But would I come across as crazy asking someone if I could move desks or something?

Earplugs ?

Can you wear ear phones?
I sympathise as I really hate chewing noises and I used to work next to someone like this, I ended up actually really disliking him because of it.

I can sometimes wear headphones but for lots of the day I need to just be there answering people that come up to me and general discussions in the office as we tend to have as hoc at desk meetings
