To think I’ll never get this bloody soot off!!!

Burned a candle yesterday which has left soot marks allllllll over my freshly painted white wall. I made the mistake of trying to sponge it off with Dettol antibacterial spray so the wall is now a smeared grey grubby mess!!! Help!!!!

Wait for it to dry out completely, then try one of those white 'magic' sponges, changing the surface often. The trouble with candle smoke is that it is waxy, so wet clean will not remove it.
