Child maintenance

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if anyone help. I am struggling to work out my child maintenance. I am trying to calculate how many nights a year. The reason I have difficulty is because one of my sons goes:

3 nights one week and two nights the other week

The other son goes 3 nights every other week

How do I calculate it, the online calculator doesn’t allow me to enter different days for each child.

Trying to work out which category they should come under.

I really welcome any help or advice.

Thank you very much

Just call Cms and let them work it out??

RockingLobstering · 08/02/2018 11:57

Get the results for child 1, and then reset and get results for child 2.
Work out an average between the two results

Do you mean the official government one? Via HMRC?

Could you not just add up all the nights collectively then divide by 52 weeks?

Jamdoggers · 08/02/2018 12:11

🤔 didn’t work, think the percentages change for one child.

So it's 8 nights in a fortnight, average of 2 nights per week per child.

Dancingfairy · 08/02/2018 12:15

Yeh I did but I assume you want to do it between yourselves rather than involve them? Sorry I can't work it out I'm terrible with that kinda thing.

Jamdoggers · 08/02/2018 12:17

Yes I think that’s right....2 nights as he is claiming it’s 2 to 3....could go under both groups?

On average it’s 104 nights

DS1 (3 x 26 weeks) + (2x26 weeks) = 130 nights

DS2 3x 26 weeks = 78 nights

Total of 208 nights between them which averages out at 104 night each so about 29%

Wow thank you, what does DH1 & 2 mean?
