Help! School dress up day...

TheSnowFairy · 07/02/2018 23:17

DD's school is having a 'dress up as your favourite app/gaming character' day.

Totally stuck for ideas - she is 9yo / Year 5 - any suggestions?

TIA Smile

Angry birds?

Very odd dress up day! I thought my kids school made up very random dress up days but there's seems normal compared.

BlackeyedSusan · 07/02/2018 23:31

yellow duck for sqashy, or cat for stampycat.

FingersCrossedHard · 07/02/2018 23:33

Football kit - FIFA

Army/soldier uniform - Fortnite

BringOnTheScience · 07/02/2018 23:37

Sims - jeans & tee shirt Smile

TheSnowFairy · 07/02/2018 23:41

It's a nightmare! The female characters are often so sexualised and in such skimpy outfits.

Have looked at all the suggestions so far - she doesn't have anything green and would definitely not wear the Pikachu onesie!

Sims idea...much more my way of thinking Grin

  • Princess Peach, Toad, Mario or Luigi
  • Zelda, Link, Fairy iteration
  • Chun Li (leggings rather than tights if you want extra coverage)
  • Minecraft character
  • Pacman, Mrs Pacman, ghosts

Tonnes of fun ones that you could match colours of normal clothes to and then add a printed badge on cardboard to show the character. :)

What an odd dress up day! Tack a couple of sweets to a t-,shirt (or printed out pictures) - candy crush saga!

TheSnowFairy · 08/02/2018 16:13

Love the candy crush idea but she would be mobbed in the playground if she hadn't eaten them all herself Grin

Does she actually have a favourite app/gaming character?

Seems a very strange dress up idea, especially for younger years.

Go with the sims - several simple tutorials to make the green diamond thingy on Pintrest to attach to a head band and wear anything she fancies! Easy

RebelRogue · 08/02/2018 18:10

Does she have a favourite app/game?

Own clothes (maybe the funkiest she has) anyone from roblox.
Football kit - fifa
Any egyptian/roman/greek/ whatever civilisation -age of empires or similar games

Or dress like her favourite youtuber.

RebelRogue · 08/02/2018 18:12

Blue shorts and yellow tshirt - Misty from pokemon. Or she could go as Ash,add a hat 🧢

readysteadyteddy · 08/02/2018 18:15

Go with the sweets but print them out and stick them on?

It's a rather odd dress up day!

How old are the children?

readysteadyteddy · 08/02/2018 18:15

oops sorry, see your DD's age in the OP

LynetteScavo · 08/02/2018 20:13

Eh?

Stick a sheet over her and tel her she loves the snapchat app? HmmOr would they be totally inappropriate gkrvY5

LynetteScavo · 08/02/2018 20:15

The flight radar app is ace. Stick a couple if aeroplanes on to deely boppers.

thenettyprofessor · 08/02/2018 20:19

get a cardboard box colour it in blue and put lines like its for boxes joint together and say she came a tetris

Theimpossiblegirl · 08/02/2018 20:22

Well it puts World Book Day onto perspective- all of a sudden a book character is not that tricky.
:)

BringOnTheScience · 08/02/2018 21:44

Blanket & snacks = Netflix

Wear blue & white with random foreign words stuck on = Google Translate

Cardboard box = Geometry Dash

Mummaofboys · 08/02/2018 21:50

What a load of rubbish, nine year olds having favourite Apps and gaming characters. Sorry not a lot of help am I. I’d definitely be ‘that Mum’ complaining about this. Lol
