Why can't you buy kids size water without buying a happy meal in McD's?

Because they don't want to lose out financially by people buying those instead of full size.

Just ask for a glass of water

Same at Odeon- can only buy a kids water or Capri Sun as a meal deal with sweets and popcorn. Obviously we just went to buy one from a shop instead

I don't think they HAVE to serve tap water - that rule only applies to licensed premises.

Just buy a reusable bottle in the supermarket, fill it up and carry it with you.

The smaller flip bottles cost the company more than the standard big sized ones. And I don't think charging a customer more for less water would go down too well.
