Going through something right now that's making me feel like I am losing my mind. I am not a smoker and the last time I had one was over four years ago. I knew how to smoke because the people I hung out with in grad school smoked so when we went on night-outs, I'd bum a stick or two.

Yes?

No forget it
It’s not even like you were a proper smoker! And you’ll hate it

petbear · 05/02/2018 00:12

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shock

DON'T DO IT!

Smoking is the spawn of the devil. Foul habit, bad for your health, costly, anti-social, makes you stink like shit, HORRID.

BulletFox · 05/02/2018 00:13

No :)

pinkdelight · 05/02/2018 00:14

Yabu. Go for a run/long walk. Forget the fags.

ReggaetonLente · 05/02/2018 00:20

Don’t do it. It won’t be nice and then you’ll feel even shitter.

WorraLiberty · 05/02/2018 00:24

You know the answer to this OP

You're going through something bad right now that's hard to cope with

All that'll happen is you'll end up going through something bad right now that's hard to cope with, but having smoked a cigarette.

Nothing else will have changed, so it's pointless.

TyneTeas · 05/02/2018 00:25

What do you want more?

Not to be a smoker, or that cigarette?

PositivelyPERF · 05/02/2018 00:27

Noooooo! Step away from the stick. When you can’t get the revolting taste out of your mouth in the morning and if you burp, you’ll want to throw up 🤢 you will just have another problem on top of the current ones.

Macaronibaloni · 05/02/2018 00:28

I used to be a smoker quit for a year and a half, things got tough and I thought I'll just have a fag or two, now I'm back to smoking again and really regretting it and struggling to stop. DON'T DO IT!

SingaSong12 · 05/02/2018 00:41

What other (non destructive) strategies have you used when stressed in the past? How about exercise, meditation, playing music. If you are restless while waiting (and other people are popping out to smoke) could you use a stress ball or a hobby like crosswords or knitting to keep you occupied?

IsThisMeToo · 05/02/2018 02:01

I think I should take a long walk.

SilverdaleGlen · 05/02/2018 02:24

Don't don't don't!

No smoker for over ten years, got stressed mate offered me a fag, now I smoke again!!!

Lairyfights · 05/02/2018 02:32

Nah, you don’t need it! It’s a waste of a tenner. Whatever you’re going through, waking up with a mouth that tastes like something died in it and stinky fingers and hair will not improve the situation.

Bunbunbunny · 05/02/2018 08:30

Not worth it, it’s not going to help whatever situation you are in. Go and do something, get a massage something to help you destress and relax

PinkBlueYellow · 05/02/2018 08:38

I think it's fine. You'll hate it anyway and it will taste vile so I don't think there's any danger of you becoming a full blown smoker.

Or, vape instead? Much nicer!

ReverseGiraffe · 05/02/2018 08:42

As someone struggling not to smoke, I see the appeal. But don't do it. It's vile and it won't make you feel any happier.

BigChocFrenzy · 05/02/2018 08:54

isthismetoo A walk is an excellent idea, especially if you can walk in a park or countryside
It can lift mood and reduce stress
Try to concentrate on your surroundings outside and avoid thinking about problems

I hope you feel calmer soon and that it all works out for you Thanks

IsThisMeToo · 05/02/2018 22:26

Decided to walk/run instead. Woke up with sore feet. :D

Have also started doing beginner's yoga on youtube.

Keeping my fingers crossed!
