Inconsiderate neighbours :(

We moved house last May, we live next door to a family, a couple, 10yr old girl, 16yr old boy and a 21yr old boy.

I’ve literally never known anything like it noise wise, it’s not the general noise that’s the issues, it’s the inconsiderate banging round.

They clearly have an issue with their front door and to close it they have to slam it around 8 times. My whole house shakes! But it can be 3am when the son gets home from work, 7am when they leave the house, the 16yr old goes to college and every morning before 7am the Mum screams at him to get out of bed over and over, literally screaming at him. I’m so tempted to shout through the wall get out of f bed!!!

I was awake from 3am today so managed to drift off on the sofa and was woken up by them slamming the doors.

On Christmas Eve we put our son to bed and the eldest son was in the bedroom next door with his friends and they were screaming, like literally screaming, and I don’t mean being loud, they were screaming like girls. I sent next door a really polite message and just said we were trying to get my son to sleep with it being Christmas Eve and would they be able to keep the noise down. She replied and made me put to be a liar and said there wasn’t even anyone upstairs and that they were all sat downstairs. So I know they are going to be funny with me, but I literally can’t go on like this 😞

Help please x

Have my neighbours moved to next door to you???

Seriously though, I can't understand it either and shudder to think of the damage they are causing...they are renters so don't seem to care.

One of them used to 'draw' on my bedroom ceiling with a torch beam and other times he had a candle at their window and in the dead of night the glow of the candle would light up my room, so that a few times I woke up thinking there was a fire in my bedroom.

Fortunately the kids seem to have moved from the attic to the garage, which is on the other side of the house, so now they annoy their neighbours on the other side (and leave me alone...for now).

Can sympathise with you though, don't know why some people have to be so inconsiderate.

@NoKnownFather I just don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate, how can you slam a door 8 times and not do something about that? Yet this happens about 5 times a day if not more, so that door is slammed around 40-50 times a day!

I know they are being funny with me because my son used to play with their daughter and now he knocks on for her and they always say she's out at her friends when I can clearly hear her in the house x

@NotKnownFather

That has really confused me do you have see through ceilings and no curtains? Diagram required!

I can't fathom their thinking either, in fact just now heard the (senior) neighbours on the other side slamming their doors....next the shouting will start, so it's not just one age group from what I've found.

A lady a few houses away used to write a letter to offending (in her opinion) neighbours and send it via snail mail. Of course, it was always anonymous and people would blame who 'they' thought sent the letter and most often their guess was wrong so a lot of angst against the wrong people. Fortunately that lady has now moved but she caused a lot more problems.

Do they own the house?... Can you contact their landlord if they’re renting maybe?.... Even if it’s just to fix the bloody door!

Kayleigh1986 · 02/02/2018 22:49

@Redwineistasty they own it :(
