The people I live with are nice enough but I really want my own space. AIBU?

if that's all there is to your AIBU, of course YANBU.

I have lived alone since I could afford it. At the beginning there was a fairly major damp problem in that flat, but it was better than living with actual other people, no matter how nice they were.

I wish I could move but I live in the SE and just can’t afford to live alone. I wish I could meet someone to move in with.

I married my house sharer. Is that an option? Wink

japanesegardens · 01/02/2018 18:06

Living in a house share with strangers is my idea of hell, even if they were nice. YANBU!

Coffeeisnecessary · 01/02/2018 18:12

Could you afford a bedsit type place in a cheaper area but still be close to your work? It's very hard living with others however nice they might be.

generalleiaorgana · 01/02/2018 18:14

YANBU!! I felt your pain for a long time

chickenowner · 01/02/2018 18:18

Can you make your own room more comfortable? Have you an armchair or somewhere to sit? Can you have your own kettle/toaster etc in your room?

I know it won't answer all your problems but it might be nice for you to be at least able to make a cup of tea without having to go into the shared areas.

japanesegardens · 01/02/2018 18:26

No unfortunately it’s a bit small. And plus it’s only a mon fri let as that’s all I can afford!

Yanbu. Happiest day of my life is when I doubled my rent to live in my very own shoebox

Dozer · 01/02/2018 18:31

Where do you go at the weekends?

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 01/02/2018 18:32

YANBU. Would it be worth looking for a job elsewhere so you could afford to rent a tiny self-contained studio flat?

Namechanged36 · 01/02/2018 18:32

What do you do at the weekend OP?

japanesegardens · 01/02/2018 18:32

Don’t laugh but I have a camper van Grin

japanesegardens · 01/02/2018 18:32
