Or is anyone else standing on the sides of their bath scrubbing away black mould from their bathroom ceiling at 10.30 on a Wednesday evening?
Would love to be able to say I'm asking for a friend...

Spray vinegar on it. . . . .a friend told me.

purplelass · 31/01/2018 22:33

Will try that next time! Thank your friend from me Wink

Dulited bleach, works a treat. Well it did in my student accommodation many years ago

HildaZelda · 31/01/2018 22:36

Buy a bottle of Astonish mould spray, the one with the green top. Most of the pound shops have it. It's the dogs nether regions when it comes to mould.

purplelass · 31/01/2018 22:39

Is it weird that I want the mould to come back so I can try these ideas out?

HG Mould Spray from B&Q. Fucking life changer. Don't even need to scrub, just spray and come back half an hour later to pristine whiteness. Does stink of bleach though.

Pimmsypimms · 31/01/2018 23:13

Yep, Astonish is the best, spray and leave it for 20 mins and it gets rid of the mold and mildew completely, no scrubbing required!

BunsOfAnarchy · 31/01/2018 23:14

HG mould spray. Got mine from Amazon. It'll probably kill you with the fumes but it is literally the ONLY thing that actually gets rid of the mould.
Game changer. Would be lost without it.

purplelass · 01/02/2018 09:47

Thanks everyone - bet it doesn't come back now I'll be armed and ready for it!

PS BunsOfAnarchy love your name! Made me think of Juice's buns sigh Wink

Just keep an old spray bottle (rinse) put in a good squirt of loo bleach in with half the bottle of tap water and spray that. Cost virtually zero.

It's just the bleach in these products which are doing the trick.

When we bought this house the bathroom ceiling in the corner was coated with it. Scrubbed it off with a brush and dilute bleach, painted over it. Shower with window open. Sorted.
