To ask for legal/financial advice?

I apologise - I'm posting here for traffic!

I have a working class background and I was fortunate to go to a highly-ranked university to study science after winning a scholarship.

I'm now, very fortunately, in a position to 'pay it back', and I'd like to set up a private scholarship in memory of my Grandmother to help a young woman to study a STEM subject at any university. I don't want to donate to existing university funds administered by my alma mater, for various reasons.

I have no idea how to go about setting this up - or what, if any, legal/financial (e.g. tax) obligations I would have? I've had a good old Google but I can't seem to find anything relevant.

Can anyone here help? Smile

I think if you speak to your local third sector interface they will be able to help/ advise. Either that or something like the same fairburn trust.
