I have an interview on Friday for a school based job and haven't had an interview for years. Trying to prep for it now but wondered if anyone can pre empt a few questions for me. I'm guessing safe guarding and how to handle / give an example of how I handled extreme behaviour. Any others? Thanks if you can help.

With stuff like safeguarding, you just have to say you would follow their procedures which you would be briefed on in the induction.

"How have you handled extreme behaviour?"

They'll ask you about team work, handling conflict/difference of opinion between your colleagues and a time when you've improved a situation.

Will you have any teaching time or contact with the children? They might ask you about how you've engaged children in a given activity, or how you might differentiate a particular lesson or activity.

The questions will most likely be competency based so "give me an example of a time when you..." Answer with the STAR method, situation, task, action, result. Basically tell them what happened and how you personally responded. Have a few examples ready of things you've done that you're particularly proud of and you can tailor them to these sorts of questions.

I'd guess the competencies they'll test on will be along the lines of teamwork, dealing with difficult parents/children, time management, communication. Try and think of a rough example of each one so you don't feel put on the spot.
