Career change - getting experience in

As a result of a recent move I have had to give up my job and there is a possibility I won't be able to start another for a while. (Combination of move/location/ children etc)

However I have done some freelance work for my old company: I work in marketing/ business consultancy.
I've now begun to consider freelancing as an option but would like to expand a little into new area of copy writing.
I have marketing experience but no direct copywriting experience. I think I have the right skills and interests but would like to get some experience first hand.

Can anyone advise me what the best way of getting some experience would be? I don't want to start a course but would be happy to be involved on a project (actual or shadowing) just for experience and perhaps feedback. Not sure which departments or agencies I could approach to ask for something like this.

Any suggestions I would much appreciate.

(I know it's not aibu but last thread I posted when we first moved, didn't get any messages and I really hoped for some advice. The move is not great for me and working has really helped with my mental health)

I would try registering as volunteer to the sector/type of work you are willing to start.
There are many websites only for volunteers that you can register your interest . that could be a good start ? :)

Also you can look at local companies near you and offer a volunteer service for a determined time so you can have the chance to experiment it :)

I did that and changed career straight away.

Good luck !

Thank you!

Local companies are out im afraid, as I'm not fluent enough in language.
I think websites are the way to go.

Good to hear it has worked for you, thank you.
