To ask for a hand hold?

Even though I hate that phrase "hand hold" , just had a call from my DM's care home to say that she is very confused and can't speak and is very shaky which is normally the precursor to a fit, although they are saying it's presenting as a stroke at this moment in time.
Given she has weeks to live this isn't too surprising , but I am currently trying to hoof it down from Manchester in the car as fast as I can but still going to be a 3 hour journey to get to her. Argh. Feeling shit that I didn't speak to her this morning too :((((

A hand hold and a also a warm hug OP, I know how horrid this is. Drive safely xxx

cowatthegate · 28/01/2018 21:34

She had a series of fits whilst we were driving to see her, so she is unresponsive (yet again). Got her checked into a ward and came home as exhausted from waiting around in a busy ED.

OP just checking to see how you are

cowatthegate · 30/01/2018 19:35

Yeah she has no idea who I am, where she is etc who the kids are.
6-8 weeks left is the estimate , trying to get her into the local hospice as the nursing home she was in are just shit at looking after her.
