I tried to order an item online a week ago but their was limited availability. So I visited the store and thankfully found a suitable item at full price.
After returning home I found same item cheaper online.
I queried it with their Customer Services Department and was politely old tough.
Yesterday I visited the store and found that the item was now on sale.
I was told they could have price matched on the day but now if is too late to do anything.
Aibu to think they could have returned item at full price and resold at current price.

It's well known that the sales start early online than instore. Just return it and rebuy it? If it isn't used.

Not a sale Just a promotion on one type of item.
I had accepted it until I was told that had I mentioned it when I got them that they would have price matched.
Can't return as worn.
O well lesson learnt. Check online price before purchase

Buy at cheaper price, return brand new (cheaper) one with full price receipt, keep used one at reduced price. Job done, money saved, nothing dodgy.

Indie139 · 27/01/2018 13:16

cant you just return it and buy it at sale price?

ThisLittleKitty · 27/01/2018 13:18

Well I heard that sometimes things are cheaper online than in store. That's just the way it is, I've never come across it myself but I heard it on a bargain group so maybe it's just one of those things.

MagicWillHappen · 27/01/2018 13:19

I would do what Nike said if the saving was worth it.

However YABU really op - any time you buy anything you're at risk of a future sale making it cheaper. It's just one of those things and I'd never expect any store to refund the difference.

Yellowsubmarine75 · 27/01/2018 13:22

I guess I could do that Indie.
Although they may be a bit funny as it's a small shop and they will probably remember me.
In this case the promotion appears to have been on longer online.

Get someone else to go in and return it for you?

Thiscantreallybehappening · 27/01/2018 13:40

OP buy one at sale price. Keep it in it's packaging put your original (higher price receipt) with it and return. That way you keep the one you have worn but have a refund of your original amount.

Thiscantreallybehappening · 27/01/2018 13:41

Sorry just seen that Nike has already suggested this
