Hate speech/crime

I doubt this is the right place to post this but thought I was likely to get a quick answer. As the whole world has gone a bit hate crime nuts recently, I was wondering if it's considered a hate crime to refer to a woman as a slut/whore etc or any profanity generally related to a woman's anatomy.

No. The definition is easily googleable.

Definition of hate speech
Hate speech - is intended to foster hatred against individuals or groups based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, place of national origin, or other improper classification.

Sex isn't a category under which hate speech is defined. I believe at present hate crimes are defined as religiously or racially motivated, and are an aggravating factor in an additional crime (eg assault).

So legally speaking, no that wouldn't be defined as a hate crime or hate speech.

There is somewhere where it's classed as a hate crime - Nottingham maybe?
