To change my sons name??

The name I gave DS is one that reflected the name me and ex used whilst I was pregnant.

So for example during my pregnancy we called our son JJ (Joe Junior) after his father. Please note this wasn't ever going to be his actual name.

Ex left before son came along, so I decided to have a middle name starting with J so he'd still be known as JJ.

10 months later, not seen or heard from his "father" and am now regretting the choice of using his names to incorporate JJ.....I can't bear it anymore and refuse to even say his middle name.

Personally I think it's a joke on my son if I kept it. I'd rather change it now and he not know any different

I just can't handle when he gets called JJ (not all the time).

AIBU to change it now??

Pointlessfacts · 25/01/2018 22:41

I haven't seen him since 4 months before I gave birth.

He hasn't been there at all, not even to sign the birth certificate.

DS's last name is under mine also.

Will he ever know he had the previous middle name??

I'm going to the registry office tomorrow to see how I go about doing it.

What do you think I'd need to take??
