I am so p*ssed off!!! At myself mostly. Apparently I was going at 38 in a 30 mile an hour zone. Find it hard to beleive as I'm anal about speed limits usually (so serves me right I guess) and know where all of them are along that particular road anyway. And I was on the way to my parents house at time as it was my DD's b'day and I wanted to get there and then get back in time for her to see her dad before he went out. And all of that is totally irrevelant but I want to speak to someone and explain ..... and get them to say 'there, there' it's OK. We understand'. I know they wouldn't say that anymore than teachers did when you were caught out at school....but I'd like to think they would.

It's because you feel judged.

You were caught by a machine, nobody judged you to be a Bad Driver.

Perhaps that's it. Not that I'd be any more able to argue with a police man if I'd been stopped by a flesh and blood human. In fact I'd be even more mortified. But at least I can be comfortable indignant about a bl**dy camera.

You can have the opportunity to do that. You can either plead guilty by post or do it in person when you can make a plea of mitigation. I'm sure the magistrates are well-rehearsed in saying "there, there" and fining you anyway .

I was gutted when I got a speeding ticket.

Don't know why, but it made me feel sooo much better when I found out the local vicar got one at the same time.

And someone got a big box of Thornton's chocs out of it.

(We'd just bought the car off a colleague, and documentss were in the post, so warning went to their address. Her DH was really cross, then realised it couldn't have been her...)
