To ask a quick question about loans?

Husband and I have had to take out a loan, short term, with our bank.

Before we applied we did the ‘how much can you borrow’ reckoner thing (which takes into account our account history) and it pre approved us for the amount we needed.

We both completed the application and there was a message to say it had been approved. The paperwork arrived and we sent it off.

Husband is now panicking that the loan won’t be approved. Am I wrong to think that the ‘final checks’ mentioned in the paperwork aren’t necessarily going to bring us doom and that we’re likely to receive this loan?

The pre-approval means little, unfortunately.
However it sounds as though your application was accepted on completion? So while there us a very small possibility of it falling through at the final checks I'd say it's very unlikely.

Should be ok!

I applied for a loan online last year - I had £10k in my bank account within 2 minutes Shock

I'd say it's likely to be approved but the rate may change. This happened to us and instead of paying £150 back a month we had to pay £155 back a month which wasn't the end of the world.
