Hi,
I see thread after thread of Evil MIL ect...
I just want to share that my MIL is the most loveliest MIL you could have, we have our differences but I think we both try really hard to make it work.
I am really sad to see others who don't get on, but my whole reason for this post is I have a lovely baby boy and one day I will be the MIL ... can we have some happy stories that will make me feel good about someone else having my baby x

I've separated from my husband but my mother in law and I still get each other christmas gifts, she used to have my little boy when i was at work but he has his hours at nursery now. We got on well then and we have kept it together now. I think in life a little bit of understanding goes a long way. A mother loves her son and the girlfriend / boyfriend loves her son too.

some people are just arseholes though and you cant work with that

So lets all commit to being as un-arseholey as possible

My mil and I are very different people, but we rub along okay. Long as her pfb DS is happy, she is. I get on well with fil.

I love mine, she's 80 now but still tries to look after us all.

I could ask her for anything and she'd be there.

My mil is great too. I can't even say we've had our differences because we never have. She has four sons too so maybe she's just grateful for the female company Grin

My ex MIL is rather lovely too. We've had the occasional differences of opinion, mainly when the children were smaller, but even though ExH and I are mo longer together I still mostly get on with my MIL.
