I say Lancashire invented it : chips, cheese, gravy. Solid fodder. None of this Montréal invented it nonsense.

I don't care who invented it. I'm just happy that it was invented!! Same goes for chips cheese and curry sauce 😍 I discovered that gem when I lived in Wales!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 23/01/2018 18:16

It’s cheese curds in Montreal though!

Glumglowworm · 23/01/2018 18:39

I grew up in Lancashire and had chips and gravy almost daily at high school (before the days of healthy school dinners). I never encountered cheesy chips and gravy til I moved to wales though

x2boys · 23/01/2018 18:40

The cheese is a newish addition i think?

IPokeBadgers · 23/01/2018 18:48

The cheesey gravy chip has been a staple food in Northern Ireland since pussycat s a kitten 😆

taskmaster · 23/01/2018 18:49

There ain't no cheese curds in Lancashire.

IPokeBadgers · 23/01/2018 18:49

FFS! Since pussy was a kitten, that should read!

etap · 23/01/2018 18:50

Yes. Because it's not the same thing.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/01/2018 18:54

Well no, I ate chips cheese and gravy in the North East growing up, but that's not poutine.
Poutine has cheese curds.

Loyly · 23/01/2018 18:56

As much as I love chips, cheese and gravy - and as others have said - it isn't poutine.

klondikecookie1 · 23/01/2018 18:59

As others have said, not the same thing.

Cheese chips and gravy is better though, imo.

DoctorTwo · 23/01/2018 19:06

Cheese, chips and gravy is ok, but Parmo it ain't.

Kursk · 23/01/2018 19:10
