To want to know about this paedophile

A friend was convicted of paedophilia. We had no idea and only found out when we saw the papers. We pieced together that he probably breached bail conditions by coming over to our house whilst on bail and being in contact with our child.

I want to find out if he has been released. He is coming to the end of his prison sentence and I want to be able to mentally prepare myself. Anyone know if this is possible? I don't even know where he was imprisoned.

Also...AIBU to still be affected by this 2 years on?

I’m so sorry that you went through this.
YANBU at all to be affected by it!! He was around your child, you are bound to feel loads of guilt surrounding this but it’s not your fault, you weren’t to know. How awful for you, I hope you get the answers you’re looking for XX

Thanks. I've got no idea how to find out if he has been released which is causing me a lot of anxiety at the moment.

"I want to be able to mentally prepare myself."

"causing me a lot of anxiety at the moment."

Yes, you're being unreasonable. If you're worried for your safety (with due reason) then go to the police. If not, live your life.

If you've reason to believe your child was a victim of this man then you should have gone to the police immediately. I assume that this isn't the case.

Are any of your other friends still in contact with him?
