To think that slime is awful for the environment

I made some the other day and looked up the chemical reaction - you’re basically creating a polymer that will stay on the planet for ever...whilst the ingredients are all water soluble at least.
I felt really sad as other than a bit of entertainment it’s fairly pointless.
DD and I decided we won’t make any more despite the current craze. And whilst we’re at it we’re not buying anymore ordinary glitter.
Am I right about slime? Anyone made any biodegradeable versions?

I’ve never made any but I didn’t realise it was bad for the environment!

I have never let my kids make it for this reason alone. It's vile stuff.

Yanbu.
My dd watches YouTube videos of it. Bizarre what we do these days. We don’t make any or buy any.

Glad it’s not just me that’s realised and is horrified....
Never thought about loom bands or Hama beads....
