To expect DTDs home by now?

Gone to friends for tea. Arranged for me to pick them up at 5:30 - telling them they would not hang about as I am busy (DTDs party tomorrow)

Mother rings at 5:20 they are only just sitting down to tea. I ask if she can ring when they sit down to pudding so I can come and get them as they finish and not hang around. She appologises and offers to bring them back after tea. They are still not* home

Maybe she thinks she's doing you a favour by keeping them for a while.
Why don't you ring and ask how much longer?
