Emergency copper coil removal?

Hey guys had the copper coil inserted in emergency two weeks ago but I hate it cause I keep heavy spotting and don't know what's going. I have two queries- anyone who has had an emergency coil have you ever had it removed before your next period? And b) those who have had one removed does the spotting go away right away?

Surely you need to wait until you have had your period to ensure your not pregnant then get it taken out. Ibuprofen can help with bleeding

I think it needs to stay in till your period to make sure it has been effective. Lots of people get spotting and cramping for the first wee while but its worth calling your local FP clinic or GP for advice.

Ideally needs to be in for 3 weeks after the sex to ensure not pregnant. We would do a pregnancy test and then remove. However would remove sooner if you wanted and understood the risk. If you have had any sex in the last 7 days you would be advised to wait due to pregnancy risk. The bleeding should settle with removal but not immediately.

Munchy can you help with a few concerns? I will leave the coil in until my next cycle if I knew my period would come. I'm Day 36 now post d&c. I took Ella one two weeks ago also. Now I have dark brown turning more lighter blood the last few days but still no period and no cramps. When should I expect my period or could my hormones be mixed up?

Given the surgical procedure then Ella one and now coil fit it is impossible to predict when your cycle will settle.
Some spotting is normal after an IUD fit.

But I will get a period at some point right?
