To not go to the Dr

I've been really unwell for a few days. Thought it was flu but couldn't stand up for more than a few seconds. Hadn't eaten for days because I couldn't stand up long enough without chest pains and trouble breathing.

DP was desperate for me to see a doctor, but he's a hypochondriac. Now I've developed a strange rash (which I think is slowly fading) and am still struggling with walking, though not as much. I can make food now but don't think I could manage exertion. My vision has also suddenly gone blurry today, and I'm lying in bed still a bit breathless and unable to see the TV properly.

None of the symptoms are really severe though. Just weird and annoying. Am I being lazy/stupid to just ride it out?

Yes, since you could call NHS and ask for advice instead of posting in an internet forum for advice from unknown and perhaps quite ignorant total strangers.

Call 111

furryous · 21/01/2018 03:44

I've done the symptom checker which is useless and only says to dial 999 as the breathlessness/chest pain combo triggers a possible heart attack, which this isn't. My sister used to work for 111 and they use an almost identical system and send ambulances to be on the safe side. Waste of money.

If I went to the ooh dr tomorrow I would struggle to get there. And back. I was just musing at 4am I guess, sorry to have bothered you!!

You need to see a dr. If it's nothing- best case scenario for all. Just go.

Argeles · 21/01/2018 03:47

Phone 111 and see what they advise. Tell them everything - duration of symptoms, and how they’ve developed.

It sounds like you have low blood pressure and it’s causing your blurry vision and lack of energy. Are you drinking enough fluids? Could you be dehydrated?

BitOfFun · 21/01/2018 03:48

It doesn't sound trivial to me- certainly worth a GP appointment.

Unless it's just a flesh wound...

Just seen other messages.

Go to a walk in centre if possible. I only advised 111 as apparently that’s what we have to do now even if we’re dying! It’s a fucking disgraceful situation - we’re being asked to gamble with our health.
