I work in HR and Recruitment and often receive emails with CV attachments and a "covering note" like this:

"Wnt 2 apply 4 jb on net. Pls gt bck 2 me.

Thx."

If you can't be bothered to write a coherent and appropriate note to me, why should I, even for one moment, think that you are professional?

This is getting more and more common isn't it? I hate text speak anywhere other than in a text mesage, and then I only use abreviations like 'Cu' 'b' and 'ur'.I can't usually understand true text speak and to be honest I don't want to.

To use text spaek when applying for a job is appalling. I would bin those applications immediately. I wonder if teachers are finding this a problem with pupil's writen work?

Someone once sent me a work email ending "thx!!!!!!!!!".

I thought "If you have time to put all of those exclamation marks, why don't you have time to write "thanks"?". It took me a while to find time to respond...
