To think the Worboys decision is awful

Shocking that it won’t be reviewed . Haven’t read the full story , but was it purely a decision by the Conservatives? Either way it’s not good at all

As much as I dislike the Tories the parole board isn’t a political body. The judiciary is independent of party politics. It’s an awful decision and I cannot understand why a man considered a short time ago to be too much of a risk to go to a lower category prison is safe to be let out.

I'm very disappointed, but no, I doubt its a bad decision by the government. The threshold that has to be reached before a minister is allowed to spend public money on a judicial review is pretty high. They have to have independent legal advice saying there's a good chance of success. If they didn't have that then of course they shouldn't piss away public money- because money spent on legal challenge is money that can't be spent elsewhere. If they did have legal advice saying challenge, and ignored it, heads must roll. Doubt it though.
