Just wanting to check - promised DH burgers for dinner. Bought said burgers from Asda and not the butchers like he was expecting. He's now sulking, not eaten them and said he's getting a kebab for dinner..... I think I shall pour some wine and let him sulk!

If that is all he has to worry about then he’s lucky!

SnowGoArea · 19/01/2018 18:42

Don't forget to add 'eat his burger' to your list!

swizzells2003 · 19/01/2018 18:44

Yep, it's deffo a first world problem!

Thebluedog · 19/01/2018 18:45

Really? He’s sulking over Asda burgers Shock

swizzells2003 · 19/01/2018 18:46

@Thebluedog he sure is, not talking to me, sighing, not feeding the cats ...... all fun in my house tonight!

YANBU. It's a bit disappointing if you've set your heart on a particular food, but not something to sulk about like a toddler Hmm

Enjoy your burgers!

Tink2007 · 19/01/2018 18:47

I’d tell him to grow up.

user1493413286 · 19/01/2018 18:47

I bet if he hadn’t seen the packaging he wouldn’t even have known

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 19/01/2018 18:47

Feed his burger to the cat?

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 19/01/2018 18:49

An adult male sulking is so unattractive.

AmberTopaz · 19/01/2018 18:49

He sounds very childish!

MissConductUS · 19/01/2018 18:50

Your mistake was in telling him where they came from. He never would have known otherwise.

Burgers are a big deal at our house, almost a ritual (we're Yanks). The meat has to come from a certain market, it has to be seasoned a certain way, etc. That's all fine with me, DH and DS do it all together, including the shopping. If you were making dinner he's got no cause to get crabby about it.

iklboo · 19/01/2018 18:51

Are the ones from the butchers gold plated wagyu or something?

swizzells2003 · 19/01/2018 18:51

He absolutely wouldn't have known if he hadn't have seen the packaging - my plan was to have them cooking when he came home but he came back early! The wine is helping Smile

MrsMaxwell · 19/01/2018 18:53

I am guessing he won’t be getting dessert Grin

swizzells2003 · 19/01/2018 18:57

You'd be guessing right! No dessert here Grin

MissionItsPossible · 19/01/2018 18:57

Enjoy your wine and burgers!

blaaake · 19/01/2018 19:06

I'd tell him to fuck right off and eat his kebab in the car

PoorYorick · 19/01/2018 19:11

Ooh, a man sulking over hamburgers. Sexy. No, that other thing. Tedious.

MissConductUS · 19/01/2018 19:11

Is he usually petulant about little things like this?

BalloonSlayer · 19/01/2018 19:11

Our butchers' burgers are amazingly tasty.

If someone had offered me a burger for tea and implied it would be one from the butchers, then dished up a Bird's Eye one (rank!) I would be mightily displeased.

Don't know what Asda ones are like though.

Blatherskite · 19/01/2018 19:11

Anyone else desperate to know the secrets of MissConductUS's burgers?

MsHomeSlice · 19/01/2018 19:13

have you offered to cut it into teeny tiny pieces for him to make it easier?

make sure you elbow him in the face when you do.

PeterRabbitt · 19/01/2018 19:15

To my shame I nearly a full blown tantrum over only getting egg and chips for dinner instead if the sausage, egg and chips I'd been dreaming about.
In my defence I'd just finished my first week in a new and much more demanding job and I came on the next day but still...
If he's not normally an ass, forgive him. Being hungry and sad is not fun.

TooMinty · 19/01/2018 19:15

Sounds like he's overtired. Give him a sippy cup of milk then pop him in bed.
