To stain the legs of a new sofa

So I've got my eye on this sofa in John Lewis, which is exactly what I want for the space it needs to fill, and at a good price, but the legs are too pale and won't match other furniture in the room.

Is it reasonable to think I might be able to use a wood-stain paint on the (removable) legs to get the right colour, without it looking like a DIY job?

Do it!
Maybe buy a simiar colour/textured piece of wood from Wicks/B&Q to practice on first

Or change the legs. Most bolt into the base.

It's worth asking if there is a choice of wood. My sofa came with pale wood or dark wood legs so I just chose light because that matches best.

Let me know... bought a DFS sofa with "oak" legs, but when they arrived, they were more like pale ash. Not a mistake apparently, and there were no samples in shop when I ordered so couldn't check colours.

Have bought oak stain and will attempt staining when I have enough free time (probably in about 20 years....).

Yes, easy I would think. You could go over them until you get the right colour.

An aside, that's quite a narrow seat depth. We've got similar on a small sofa and it's not the comfiest - you sit very upright. Have you sat on it?
