I upgraded my mobile contract at new year. I now have a ZTE blade handset.
I'm finding that the phone is very reluctant to keep apps open due to its RAM. What sounded like a decent amount of RAM 2gb in discussion in the shop is actually quite poor by the time the system is running using up 1.3 GB, so it constantly shuts background apps down and doesn't multitask. This means that actions like going for a run and playing something like music and a background app will get shut down if I take a photo or check a message. I end up running around with the handset out constantly reopening apps. There is no options to manually control this software management. Both times I've been to the shop, the staff have tried to play with the settings but there is no practical difference.
I've been back to the shop twice, the first time within 14 days of the upgrade and need to go back in tomorrow with a more senior manager present to discuss the problems.
Am I being reasonable to claim that this is a software fault with the phone that inhibits its function, and that if the phone is struggling with the RAM to run apps now, it won't be fit for purpose within the lifespan of its 2 year contract. The contract allows for 4gb of data, so a substantial amount of use expected!
I basically can't use this phone in the way that I've used several previous smartphones.
