Really shit day. Currently laying on the sitting room floor & thinking.. is this the pinnacle of my life ... Artex ?

We recently moved house and EVERY SINGLE WALL AND CEILING has some sort of artex or textured wallpaper
I literally can't fathom why someone would do it to every single surface!

It's the bane of our lives at the moment!

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the Artex

By the gods, I hate Artex. Trashy common shit. I paid a small fortune to a plasterer to skim over every last inch of it in my last house. Worth every penny.

My ILs have Artexed ceilings and textured wallpaper in every room. It's eye-watering.

We had textured wallpaper on every single ceiling. It cost a small fortune to plaster all the holes it left.

We have just got rid of the last wall of artex and textured wall paper by getting it all skimmed. One room had that horrid woodchip paper on every wall even the ceiling. The freshly painted plastered walls look amazing.

All the ceilings in our last house had been helpfully clad in polystyrene ceiling tiles. It's properties as a fire excelerant are only matched by its fucking impossible sticking powers.

My brother moved into a flat that had a long narrow bathroom with a giant diamond artexed on each wall. I side each artexed diamond was an artexed palm tree.

When was it done? Might have asbestos in it too
