To ask about Adrenalin surges and perimenopause?

I am nearly 45, have loads of symptoms of peri menopause but have recently started getting weird Adrenalin surges from nowhere.

Today I was literally lying in bed & suddenly had a surge that then made me feel anxious & like I couldn’t breathe- it’s really horrible.

I have had ecgs, loads of blood tests etc over the last year and all normal so AIBU think it must be peri menopause? It’s really awful.

Anyone else get these?

Did you feel hot too? I don’t mean a hot flush, but almost like a very bad blushing fit? I had these and yes, I’m perimenopausal, but it turned out I needed a lot of iron..ended up having an infusion.

Presuming your iron is OK, I would still put it down to hormones! If it gets worse/more frequent, I’d go to the GP though.

Should just add, a lot of GPS think you’ll be OK with very low Ferritin (stored iron), but the haematologist said that was a bad thing in itself, and I certainly haven’t had a surge like that since. HTH
