Is this chicken pox or AIBU/neurotic

DD 6 years old. Had a fever of 38.1 last night and 37.8 this morning, sore throat and achy arms and legs so I kept her off school. At bath time I noticed she had a patch of spots under both her arm pits with 2 spots blistering (fluid underneath them). One scabby looking one on her arm too. 3 x faint spots on chest and 1 on forehead. She says they aren’t itchy and she feels ok although to me she seems very pale and poorly. It’s chicken pox isn’t it??? No contact with anyone with it as far as I know.

Yep sounds like it to me. Both of mine have had it recently.

Might be, no-one here can tell you. If it is you'll know by tomorrow anyway.
(37.8 is not a fever, btw)

ShutUpBaz · 17/01/2018 20:40

Sounds like it could be. It incubates for up to two weeks I believe (prepared to be told I'm wrong) so it can be picked up fairly easily.

Two words: Virasoothe & Calpol

This is the one on her arm. Took photos of others to see if they have developed much over night but won’t upload them here.

Thanks. She’s due to be a flower girl at a wedding on Saturday. Timing couldn’t be worse...

Sounds like it, sorry Sad

If it's anything like when my DD had chicken pox, you'll be in no doubt tomorrow morning as she'll be covered in them.

ChasedByBees · 17/01/2018 20:46

Sounds like when my DC first came down with it. She only had one on her tummy and nursery were definitive it was the pox. I thought we’d got off lightly but within a couple of days she was covered.

Mintie190 · 17/01/2018 20:46

6 years old and it has to come now. She will be so upset to learn she can’t attend the wedding.

Can’t tell from that picture because the head is off already. Wait and see what she looks like tomorrow. If it’s CP, you’ll know. Fingers crossed it’s not tho so she can go to the wedding!

Bringmewineandcake · 17/01/2018 21:13

Can I also recommend Poxclin? We used it as a quick smotherer for all over the body, and virasoothe on the face.

MagicWillHappen · 17/01/2018 21:15

My ds2's CP started under his armpits so it may well be...the pictured spot could be anything though at that stage. If they're blistered though it does sound like CP.

How is she today OP?
