To wonder why Sky TV is now so difficult to navigate

We had Sky TV for years , had a break for about a year & had it re installed in our new property about 2 months ago (Sky Q)

Tonight we switched on & it showed Carpool Karaoke in My Q (whatever it is) - all the episodes. We were working our way through them & they have now disappeared.
We’ve searched but they are no where! The new system seems really frustrating unless we are being stupid 😂

They may well have ”expired” as such. They only have them on for a certain amount of time.

Firesuit · 17/01/2018 20:00

I find "My Q" section completely useless, I just ignore it. (In my case it is full of hundreds of children's programs DD has watched half of.)

Everything there should also be somewhere else, you just need to find it. "Carpool Karaoke" sound like it should be in one of the Youtube subcategories? (Not something I've watched, so may be wrong.)

Firesuit · 17/01/2018 20:02

Have you tried a voice search? That tends to find stuff wherever it's hiding, at least for stuff I watch.

dontsufferfools · 17/01/2018 20:03

Oh we had this with our Sky Q. Have you checked in your deleted deleted's?

We were ploughing through G of T and they all disappeared. Found them all there. Had to undelete them all.

Sometimes I think these new fangled efforts are too clever for their own good!

Firesuit · 17/01/2018 20:03

I seldom use voice search, as I don't use the Sky remotes, but it is an impressive feature that works well.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 17/01/2018 20:03

I find the whole tv thing just a pain. By Vision takes ages to load, and we have a fire stick which also takes ages, and you have to pay extra for films. So I’ve given up watching tv. Too slow and time consuming

Firesuit · 17/01/2018 20:04

There are ways to delete whole series, so yes it is worth looking in deleted items.

I find that Sky Q isn't user friendly at all. And don't get me STARTED on the remote!!

CherryMaDeara · 17/01/2018 20:32

I find Sky Q sooooo much easier than Sky +.

Have you got the touch remote? Just voicesearch it.

I saw Carpool Karaoke in the Online Video section yesterday, they are all there.

OnionKnight · 17/01/2018 20:34

The Sky Q remote is shit, constantly picking it up the wrong way because both ends feel the same.

ImMissHannigan · 17/01/2018 20:37

Most frustrating feature/change is that if you record something on series link then it shows in date order. So if you have a whole series then you need to go through everything to get to the latest. It used to be the most recent recorded at the top.
Also you can't set reminders anymore. I often flick channels waiting for a programme to come on but can't set a reminder in case I am hooked on what I am watching and forget. It's record or nothing.

PeakyBlindersIsTheBest · 17/01/2018 20:39

Thank you all
@CherryMaDeara found it in the online videos (thank you) & now singing along with the Foo Fighters 😂

Also annoying is that it doesn’t show (in a series) which ones you’ve watched so we are constantly ‘where did we get to ?’

I'm not entirely convinced that it's any better than Sky + to be honest. I really miss being able to start a program at say 15 minutes in like you used to. And it's so hard to work out what you've watched in a box set. I've had a right nightmare with the Sky soundbox too, it's always losing contact with the Q box.

kimlo · 17/01/2018 20:50

It doss show you where you got up to in a series, it just isn't very obvious and it took me ages to work out. Under the episode picture theres a tiny thin blue line, if it's bot there at all you haven't watched any, if the line goes all the way along the picture you have seen all of it, inbetween shows you how far you have got.

kimlo · 17/01/2018 20:51

it's so subtle to the point of being useless.

SleepForTheWeek · 17/01/2018 21:54

And the remote is so bloody slippy, it's always falling out my hand or the side of the sofa! And it has a mind if it's own, you just have to look at it funny and it starts rewinding!
