My DN started back at school Two weeks ago, bought her a new pair of shoes from a supermarket. She choose a pair of pretty shoes with a Velcro bit.

This morning she couldn't get one of the Velcro bits too stick down, when I checked some of the Velcro is missing in random patches, and in other places no Velcro what so ever.

I'm not expecting them too last all year but two weeks is a bit ridiculous and she's 11 so not like she's been playing with them. Would they even do anything if I was to bring them back? I haven't got a receipt, but I have the bank statement showing I purchased something from there for the same price of the shoes.

WIBU in taking them back or is it pointless

Yeah take them back. I was returning something recently at a Sainsbury's and an elderly lady was returning a pair of ankle high tights with no box, no receipt or proof of purchase because they were "too elasticated" and they accepted them back. In this case they'll definitely let you exchange them.

If you have the date and time you checked out all supermarkets can bring up your receipt and print it again. Yes, two weeks is ridiculous!

Ahh brilliant. I'll go later and see what happens.
