To be annoyed at no heating?

We are having a smart heating system installed. First date for installation (days annual leave) was cancelled the evening before via email. Second installation date today (2nd day off work) they tried to cancel this afternoon. Engineer finally arrived at 6.40. nice bloke but not a heating engineer. the valves, which are supposed to be universal, don't fit our less than 10yo radiators and the box wired in to the boiler doesn't work.

The bloke is still here, tools and boiler all over my kitchen. Boiler broken so not heating or hot water. Possibly for days. It was fine until he touched it.

He's a nice enough bloke and it isn't his fault the company sent an electrician rather than a heating engineer or that they booked too many fittings in, meaning he's here waaay after hours.

We have a 2yo, a freezing house, no electric heaters and no idea when it'll be fixed.

AIBU to be furious with the company?

I'd be going batshit if an electrician was buggering about with my gas boiler no matter how lovely he is.

Is he Gas Safe registered to be doing that work? It's an individual registration, not company wide.

Yes, he's gas Safe registered.

He's also only touching the electrics of the boiler, not the gas. Usually a heating engineer does the valves and the electrician wires in the thermostat, but the heating bloke is on leave apparently.
