Aibu that if a service charge is added onto a bill, then a gratuity shouldnt be asked for if paying by card?

YANBU, really gets my back up.

Yup really annoying.

You've put a 12.5% service charge on the bill, no I am not paying an additional gratuity!

RadioGaGoo · 15/01/2018 11:11

Wow! I didn't realise some places did this! I can't believe it.

StickThatInYourPipe · 15/01/2018 11:14

It’s probably becuase they don’t know how to recode the handsets following the desicion to add service onto the bill.

I can kind of get that

What I don’t understand is why for a table of 2, a service charge is added automatically. If you want your staff to get paid more, up your prices. I don’t want to pay service charge all the time and I want to make the desicion on how much to tip.

So dive and fluffy you have experienced this too? Im surprised so many places have the brass neck. I thought it might have been an error.
