To have another telly day?!

I’m feeling dreadful. Came down with a throat infection last week and can still hardly eat or speak, as well as just feeling exhausted because I’m up half the night feeling rotten.

Because of this I feel like I’m neglecting my 15 month old DS. Since I’ve been sick it’s just been days infront of CBeebies, not getting out and about like we normally would. We’re meant to be on a swimming lesson in a few hours but I really can’t face it and there’s nobody else who can take him. Luckily he’s had a little bit of time out and about with DH over the weekend, and is in nursery tomorrow so will at least get some stimulation there!

Sorry, I’m just wallowing in self pity here, but very time he scoots over to me with a book he wants me to read and I have to say no (because of throat being in agony) it breaks my heart! How do people cope with looking after a baby when sick?!

Can you flick through the book with him so he’s getting the experience without you actually having to speak? Grin
Otherwise yes, the tv is your friend. My little one is currently watching head shoulders knees and toes for the millionth time!

Yeah who cares I don't get what the big anti tv issue is these days! When he's 15 years he's going to watch as much tv as he wants and at 15 months he's not going to remember the odd CBeebies day and it won't scar him for life! I've had d&v this week so we had 2 CBeebies days and as long as she also plays on the floor herself or in her jumperoo a bit as well then I feel like a pretty ace ill parent and I don't worry about it. Don't let judgey pants people make you feel bad!

Thanks for the replies - they made me feel a lot better! I did try the flicking through the book thing without reading, but he just gave me a dirty look!
We eventually moved upstairs and I just sat with him while he played with some toys in his room, the little change of scenery did us both some good I think!
