Hi
I have another thread but I need answers fairly quickly and it’s not getting any answers

Long story short. If someone emigrates and leaves you with the mortgage are you then legally allowed to sell The contents. The contents are my ex h who has left the uk.

I have texts to say they are not returning.

Send a message giving him notice that unless his stuff is removed within 14 days you will dispose of it as you see fit.

Send via email and whatsapp (proof it was received).

The fact the left you with the mortgage is neither here nor there unfortunately.

Seek legal advice

Do not ask randoms on the internet

Sorry you're going through this OP, but really Mumsnet or any other internet forum is not the place for advice as important at this Thanks

PyongyangKipperbang · 15/01/2018 00:55

Sorry I should add that the message giving him notice (given your other thread) will probably have him saying "Fine, get rid of it" which means you are covered to do what you like with it.

TattyCat · 15/01/2018 01:22

I'm not legally trained but I second that putting things in writing (and saving them) is key to being reasonable and therefore if there's any retribution then you're covered, if you've been reasonable!

TattyCat · 15/01/2018 01:24

But yes, get legal advice. It won't take long/cost very much, initially. And... you can then prove that you've tried to do the right thing..
