Handbags for toddlers

To have such a clichéd rant about pink shit for girls!!

Trying to find a play handbag for my child's birthday but they're all bloody pink! I just want a nice/fun bag that I can put a plastic mobile phone, keys, mirror, credit card, etc in for her to play with as she's obsessed with bags. She doesn't even suit pink, we don't have the complexion to wear pink in this family! It's just not a good colour for us.

My daughter's was purple. Fischer Price, I think. Amazon has one that's blue. You don't have to "suit pink" to carry a pink purse.

Go to a charity shop and get her a proper one!

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/01/2018 21:14

Buy a handbag from a charity shop.

Stormwhale · 14/01/2018 21:15

My dd has about 15 handbags, a ridiculous amount. Most of them are hand me downs from me or friends and family. Most of them are just smaller adult handbags, which there are an abundance of in charity shops in all shapes and colours! It doesn't have to be specifically for children for them to enjoy playing with.

MrsAmaretto · 14/01/2018 21:25

My dd has a blue one with polar bears & penguins on it from the Cath Kidson sale

GrumpyOldBagFace · 14/01/2018 21:25

I didn't even think of that! I was focusing on bags made specifically for toddlers.

Thanks for the suggestions.

My 18 month old is currently rocking a fake black chanel bag my dm picked up for her in Italy.

Needless to say ive had a few looks on the playground :)

We have a horrendous pink Fisher Price one, which comes with accessories and annoying songs, which my two daughters LOVE 😬

They also have some very nice children's bags. One is from Next, sparkly with an initial, and a safe release strap so they can't strangle themselves. Another from M&S. No pink in sight.

And as others said, Cath Kidson have some nice ones.

Trashboat · 14/01/2018 21:32

Yes, I was about to say cath kidston. My sister got our dd one that is an aubergine type colour.

5amisnotmorning · 14/01/2018 21:34

Smiggle.

DesignedForLife · 14/01/2018 21:41

Asda sell some nice non pink sometimes. We got a fab one from a charity shop though.

GrumpyOldBagFace · 14/01/2018 21:44

Just ordered at fabulous rainbow patterned one.

Got a mobile phone, car keys, frog mirror, and fake money to go in it.

I got an awful handbag in my work secret Santa. I wish I hadn't been so hasty to re-gift it. Grin
