Fucking hell.... Is this hell thrush?

hungryhippo90 · 14/01/2018 17:35

I'm on antibiotics at the moment, so my first thought is, it must be thrush...

My bits are on FIRE... I feel a kind of pressure down there if it makes any sense, it hurts to pee.

Its only come on this afternoon... I've no idea how to find an all night pharmacy if that's it, but this is a really niggly annyoing frustrating kind of feeling.

Coal tar soap is the key to fixing thrush!

silvousplaitmerci · 14/01/2018 21:56

How did you get on OP?

PassiveAgressivePenguin · 14/01/2018 22:16

Yes! I get his on AB every time I’ve been on them post kids (I blame kids for all of my vagey issues! Fanny stretching little humanoids.)

It’s horrible. I’ve had some blood and a lot of fire, but I did treat myself with vagisil which is a gift from heaven!

I hope you clear up soon enough from both ends. It’s not nice.

Runninglateeveryday · 14/01/2018 22:23

It could be a bacterial infection I've forgotten the name something odd like staphicocolous !

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 14/01/2018 22:28

Oh what’s vagisil ?

Cycling started mine . Had it rarely but since I restarted cycling it’s every other month Angry

I didn’t realise but cycling is very bad for vaginas

sweatylemon · 14/01/2018 22:30

Hope you are ok op

Littlecaf · 14/01/2018 22:45

I’ve got thrush for the first time ever. Oh so painful, felt like my bits are on fire. It’s calmer now. Used to ge cystitis all the time in my 20s. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Best of luck OP.

How did the appointment go?

.

TOADfan · 15/01/2018 00:17

Im jealous of everyone going through life eithout thrush or a UTI, its a common occurance for me.
It does sound like a UTI but I always get a UTI when i have bad thrush.

Twice the doctors said it was clymdia ffs and i argued and had to go to the sexual health clinic for tests for it to come back bad thrush and a UTI. Twice ffs. Now i just use canasten and get antibiotics for a UTI.

I also refuse to use amoxicillin as it kills me!

MyBrilliantDisguise · 15/01/2018 00:20

I hope your appointment went well, OP.

Totally possible to gain a UTI while on ABs. The ABs for UTI's are very specific for that area and thankfully usually very effective! Hope you got hooked up with some!

Itsbecauseimaleo · 15/01/2018 00:35

Hi ladies if no one minds me asking, has anyone had thrush that wasn't caused by antibiotics? I've had it once before but that was due to antibiotics. Currently have it now and I'm a little worried as I'm not sure what has caused it. Googled and now I'm worried I'm diabetic 😪 I am carrying a few extra pounds (not too much) which I'm in the process of losing. Google also said the pill can cause it? Only things is I've been on this particular pill for years without any issues. Very confused at the moment Sad

hungryhippo90 · 15/01/2018 00:37

I’ve not long been home, so sorry for the late update, OOH Drs we’re running a bit behind, then when I got home I had a cup of tea with DH...
Well it’s a urine infection by the looks of it, and resistant to amoxicillin so I’m now on an antibiotic beginning with T, trimeopethine?
Dr gave me a few nice over to make sure the infection hadn’t made my blood pressure go up, or my flank was swollen or sore, good news, in that respect I’m ok.

I was told that if the bleeding doesn’t go away in the next few days I need to go to Drs... he was concerned there was a lot ( cringe- I took a tissue and showed him!)

I’ve also got a urine potato I can go to dr in the next few days to find out the f I nfections gone and if not I might be able to find out what it is for extra treatment. All in all a bit of a weird appointment!

I didn’t expect to have my blood pressure and heart rate taken!

Hoping to feel better within the next few days, I’m sorry to hear about.you all who have thrush at the moment.... I’d definitely prefer a toothache to sore nether regions! It agitates like nothing else

TOADFAN- I’m really sorry. I feel real sympathy with you having both at once... and to be met by a dr who just said chlamydia!? I’m really sorry, there aren’t words for a dr with an attitude like that.

I hope that the double whammy situation never happens again to you, I don’t know how you coped, but I am a rather large wimp! This UTI is the end of my life prod for the next 3 days!

OP posts:
Morphene · 15/01/2018 00:58

its anything that unbalances your microbiome can cause thrush.

I swear I once got it from drinking yeasty beer in Germany.

OP You have a urine potato? I realise this is no laughing matter but I think you are going to have to come back and clear up some ambiguities to keep it that way....

BitOfFun · 15/01/2018 01:03

Ah, I really hope you feel better soon, HungryHippo (and I have suffered too, so deeply sympathise!), but yes, do clear up the potato Grin

hungryhippo90 · 15/01/2018 01:04

Haha, FGS! Now everyone knows about my urine potato (pot!) 😖 I do love that my phone corrected from pot for me to potato!

Itsbecauseimaleo · 15/01/2018 01:08

Thanks Morphene maybe it's because I overdid it on the sugar during the christmas period Hmm

derangedmermaid · 15/01/2018 01:19

I had thrush that turned out not to be thrush but the cold sore from my face.

Apparently that's a thing that can happen if you're prone to non-lip related coldsores. Lots of bleeding, barely could move.

Glass you're sorted.

CrazyDaze1 · 15/01/2018 04:27

Oh, poor you, O/P!

Have had bad cystitis and bad thrush (aka yeast infections) in the past, so sympathise with how you are feeling.

When I lived in Singapore, I once was in such agony with cystitis (lots of blood in the urine) despite drinking a gallon of cranberry juice and copious amounts of water, that I couldn’t bear it any longer and got my spouse to drive me to a 24 hour medical centre: they said if I had left it another hour they would have admitted me as an inpatient. They check your blood pressure and heart in case you are going into a fever and possible kidney failure.

With thrush/yeast infection I learned when I lived in Switzerland that one should always take a probiotic whenever one takes antibiotics: you can buy tablets of probiotics over the counter in pharmacies and some health food stores eg Holland & Barrett afaik. Probiotics maintain the balance and health of the gut and counterbalances the over supply of candida (yeast) caused by taking antibiotics.

Hope you feel better soon! Honestly, do try probiotics (if you can’t face more tablets, try Yakult drinks if you can find them) and I assure you that your vag will rapidly feel better!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 15/01/2018 08:38

I don’t think that antibiotics are the main issue for thrush

It’s a mix of factors including hormones , moistness (sorry Envy) , friction etc , time in the cycle and diet

I have just got mine down but am reducing sugar and Wine and keeping off my bike

My period is due tomorrow so that’s GREAT !!

I am also going to get some pro biotics as I never EVER want this again , I had to cut a whole in my tights and use a standing desk for 2 days Angry
