Have I caused offence?

We are friends with a couple who live nearby. Earlier this afternoon he texted asking if we’d like to share a takeaway this evening. The thing is we had already planned our evening meal, defrosted some meat that needs cooking today. I replied explaining this and saying what abou5 next weekend. He hasn’t responded to date and I’m wondering whether we caused offence?

I can't see how anyone could possibly be offended by that, especially as you suggested next weekend rather than just turning them down flat. Weird that he hasn't responded though.

You are reading to much into it. He may be waiting for an answer from his dp? Is she out shopping? In work?

"Hasn't responded to date"... It was within the past couple of hours. :/

And I can't see how anyone could possibly be offended by this
