do nursery notes get passed on to school or other nurseries?

My daughter had a rough time settling into nursery and they wrote extensively in her notes about how she is reluctant to join in and can be quite oppositional Blush.

She HATES nursery. I think I sent her too young and may take her out. I have never seen this behaviour anywhere else - she goes to several other activities. I am worried that this "report" will follow her anywhere she goes afterwards. Will it?

I'm not sure about being passed on but I'd like to think the school would understand a report at such a young age doesn't necessarily reflect on how she is when she starts school. They'll be able to make their own observations by then :)

No. Relax OP. I don't mean that nastily btw.

I’m not in U.K. (Ireland) but as the infant teacher if I want to discuss a child with preschool/ crèche we have to receive permission from parents. Nothing is passed on otherwise.

As a secondary teacher I take reports like that from the primary with a pinch of salt, so I imagine any primary teacher will do the same.

Info in writing, reports etc is only done with permission from you. The reception teachers usually visit your child at the nursery and talk to the staff in the summer term before starting school so this kind of information may be shared verbally then. Although information that isn't current will either not be shared or just touched on very briefly.

I'm sure I had to sign something about info being shared when DC first started nursery...? I can't remember if this just covered details given to other parents or reports and everything.

If she leaves you'll probably just take her notes home with you. If she stays at the nursery till school they may have a brief handover, but that would be about how she is at the end of nursery, not how she was at the beginning. Don't fret OP. And take her out if you don't need it and don't think she's getting anything out of it - how old is she?
