Friday changeover days....grr

I know I am being unreasonably cross about this, but...isn't this just prohibitive and ridiculous?

We are trying to book a week in Northumberland in the summer and the majority of accommodation (for 4 of us) starts on a Friday.

Whilst I understand that owners might want to take short break bookings over weekends, why don't they change the policy for peak time (i.e. July) when surely most people are booking holiday cottages for a week or more? I don't want to take an additional day of annual leave for 1 week away and we live too far away to drive there comfortably on Friday evening.

I am really cross that we might have to rethink our destination due to crap availability. It does explain though why the few Sat changeovers I have found are already booked through the summer...

Does anybody else find this a problem? Confused

No.

I want Friday to Friday changeovers and they are normally more difficult to find. We normally have a two centre holiday and the second part is a Friday to Friday holiday let. that way we can get home and still have the weekend before OH has to go back to work, gives us time to relax and get back to normal.

Everyone wants different things.

Yes, this has always annoyed me too! Silver lining must be that the roads are less busy than they would be if everyone was changing over on Saturdays...
