Holiday recommendations

I know, I know I'm BU posting for traffic.

Looking for a recommendation for a summer holiday location for June. Last year we went to Majorca and this easter we're going to Fuertaventura so not Canary Islands or Majorca.
Our ds will be almost 2, we'd like to keep the flight under 4/5 hours max. We prefer self catering so we have a kitchen and can choose a different restaurant every night.
I'd say budget would be around £3k (plus spending money) for 2 weeks but don't mind spending more for something great.
I prefer smaller complexes as I find them more friendly, somewhere with a decent restaurant/bar/entertainment incase we fancy staying in one evening.

So tell me about your brilliant family holidays that would fit the bill

Should have said, somewhere abroad we have our uk breaks sorted already.

Greece, Italy, mainland Spain, France, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Portugal, Ireland....
There's plenty of places where you can self cater less than 5 hours away.
What are your other criteria e.g. beach, kids clubs, mountains, attractions etc. ?

Looking for resort / hotel recommendations really to narrow it down. My dh likes a beach

I've been to France 10+ times so probably wouldn't go back.

I quite fancy Italy or Germany but don't know where the child friendly resorts are.

What about Turkey? Some lovely all inclusive resorts there.

Malta, mellieha bay or paradise bay. Very safe for children, particularly the former, and a lovely beach

Last time I went to Turkey in the summer is was 55 degrees I appreciate that might be unusual though. My dh has been loads of times, will see if he fancies going back but think it might be too hot for me.

Malta and Madeira are nice for a change and are short flights and lovely weather in June - you'd have to look for a suitable hotel though as when I went, child friendliness was the last thing on my mind. How times have changed 😂🍼

Portugal will have plenty of options.

Sicily is nice too and Sardinia but probably more expensive than the other options

Hadn't thought of Malta, my grandad is buried there. Something to think about thanks.

Malta or Ibiza

wouldn't do the Glasgow to Ibiza flight with a toddler. Dh says it would be too depressing to go with ds he's spent a few summers there in younger years.

Menorca.

It’s quite a bit different to Majorca. Almost all of the resorts are ok. The beaches are absolutely beautiful and very, very safe.

We've stayed here before. The accommodation itself is basic, but the beach (private for the hotel) and the town are just amazing.

Yes, Menorca is lovely. Aranel d'en Castellani, Son Saura, Son Bou, Es Grau are all nice. Calla n Porter is more lively / clubby.
No kids myself but my sister's brood very much enjoyed Key Camps /Euro Camps / Featherdown type holiday.
