To ask how long your longest stomach bug lasted?

Really looking for advice here as I'm feeling so rotton.

I've had what seems like a stomach bug for a 8 days now. I'm now wondering if it is something like IBS/chrones/celiac now because I just have awful diarrhea this whole time (no vomiting). Can upset stomachs last this long? How long is the longest upset stomach you have had?

8 days is a while but i'd say max 2 weeks.

I remember when my lot had Rotavirus, they all had it for a fortnight. Seemed impossible at the time, but true (friends had similar experiences). Ugh.

is it very watery? could be Shigella - there is a lot going round this year, confirmed by doctors

Yeah watery It stopped a little bit when I started the Imodium but came back again Hopefully it'll run its course and go.

I've had traveller's diarrhoea for about 2 weeks before. I spoke to a GP on the phone who was unconcerned and said it's not uncommon for it to hang around that long. And not to take Imodium or whatever but let it run its course.

(I was diagnosed with Crohn's a few years later, but that was unconnected and very different to the traveller's diarrhoea I had)
