School with a temp of 38

But otherwise fine, yes or no? I don't know what to do for the best, particularly when schools put so much pressure on them being there unless they're practically dying.

It was spot on 38 not 38.9 or anything!

Do you mean the school or the child?

I'm in Au and the school closes early when temperatures hit 35. Thereby putting children outside at the hottest part of day. Hmm

I would say no, my dd has had all week off school with this flu thing and she’s had a temp of 38+ most days. Your dc could be incubating something’s which means they need to be resting to cope (believe me you don’t want it to turn into something nasty, my dd has been knocked for six this week), or pass it on to other kids at school. It’s Friday, I would err on the side of caution. My dd’s HT basically told me not to even think about sending her in today as it was important she was fully recovered- I also think she doesn’t want half the school going off with it too which is fair enough.

Oh gosh no not the school, the child Grin I've decided not to send her anyway. She's very quiet which is VERY unusual.

There are so many nasty bugs this year, I've heard of lots having similar hebejeeby although not here. It seems to be sickness and chickenpox doing the rounds in our area.

Absolutely not. She may well be okayish after a dose of calpol but what about when that wears off at lunchtime? She'll recover much more quickly with a few days rest.

No of course not. You don't get a temperature of 38 if everything's fine. Chances are she has a virus.
