To sell these shoes

My friend owns a shop and when people bring stuff back to return, she sometimes keeps the thing for herself as she can't resell. (Think jumper with the tiniest piece of loose thread etc.)

She gave me a pair of shoes the other day which unfortunately don't fit - I've let her know this AM and asked her if she'd like them back to sell (eBay or something)/keep for herself but she said I could just keep them/stick in a clothes bin or something.

The shoes are worth a fair amount of money which would really help me out, so WIBU to sell them myself? Could really use the cash atm but also don't know if that would be cheeky. Blush

She's given them to you to recycle if not wanted therefore they're yours to do what you like with

midnightmisssuki · 11/01/2018 11:25

ohhhh i need to see the shoes! misses point of thread

But yes - sell if you please as its yours now....

constantchange · 11/01/2018 11:49

FWIW they're not worth mega or anything, just enough for two or three food shops!

She gave them to OP and did not want them back when asked. Of course they are OP's to do what she likes with.

WhoDoDatLikeDat · 11/01/2018 12:04

She gave them to you, do whatever you want with them.

HOWEVER, there are plenty of threads on here where posters give another mum some baby stuff for free, other mum then sells it and poster calls the other mum a CF or grabby or whatever.

But, if no pictures then it didn't happen...

metacrisis · 11/01/2018 12:06

yeah well people on here call you all kinds of names for no sensible reason, so who cares?

RowenasDiadem · 11/01/2018 12:09

Ask her if she minds. If she has told you to dump/recycle them or whatever I doubt she would mind you selling them, particularly if you're strapped for cash.

Sell them and give her half?

MyKingdomForBrie · 11/01/2018 21:11

I don’t think you need to give her half. She could easily have an eBay shop for seconds if she wanted and she clearly doesn’t - OP suggested she sell them and she said no.
